Wood Burning Appliances are a great addition to any home. They are however dangerous if not maintained or installed correctly.
The Wood Energy Technical Training (WETT) Association is a group that trains inspectors, installers and chimney sweeps of wood burning appliances. Ensuring that you hire these professionals ensures you have someone with the knowledge and experience to review this system.
We issue letters confirming compliance with the WETT standards. These can be submitted to your insurance companies as they often ask for them when getting house insurance.
If you are getting a pre-purchase inspection for a new home with a wood burning appliance make sure you hire us to complete your home inspection. We will review the entire house and do a complete review of the wood burning appliance. After closing we can issue you a letter for your insurance company. Hiring a home inspector without WETT credentials will only cost you more as you have to pay for a separate inspection after closing when your insurance company asks for a WETT Inspection. |
